GARUDA RESUMES JAPAN-DENPASAR FLIGHTS
Jakarta, Antara News, 3 June 2008
Airbus A330-300 of Garuda Indonesia carrying 263 passangers from Nagoya, Japan, arrived at Bali`s Ngurah Rai international airport on Monday.
Garuda has resumed covering the Nagoya-Denpasar route after stopping it in 2005.
Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Yusuf Hadi said after arrival at the Ngurah Rai Airport expressed support to Garuda as a national flag carrier in increasing the number of foreign tourists to Indonesia.
"We are very happy with the resumption of the Nagoya-Denpasar air link," Yusuf said, adding that it is also a realization of the close relations between the two countries established 46 years ago.
The number of Japanese tourists to Indonesia now accounted for 22 percent of the total number of foreign tourists coming to Bali.
General Manager of Garuda`s Bali Office Bagus Y Siregar said the national flag carrier flies to Japan 15 times a week, namely Tokyo-Denpasar seven times, Osaka-Denpasar five times and Nagoya-Denpasar three times.
"Our load factor reaches more than 85 percent," Bagus added. |
