RI YOUNG SCIENTISTS WIN GOLD IN SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Dede Cintya and Evelyn Wibowo Lee, second-graders at Santa Laurensia high school in Serpong, Tangerang, won a gold medal at the International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering, Environment) Project (ISWEEP) olympiad in the US.
Irene Handayani Sustanto, the school's spokeswoman, said the two students would arrive from Texas at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Thursday. The ISWEEP 2009 olympiad was held between April 15 and 20 in Houston, Texas, with participants from at least 51 countries.
Cintya and Evelin joined the competition presenting a scientific research project titled "The use of charcoal combustion waste in reducing acid rain, air pollution and heavy metal content in liquid waste"
